Field Manager Position Available
Waterbear Farm is currently seeking a field manager for our biodynamic vegetable operation. Applicants must have significant vegetable farming experience as well as management and communication skills. Manager will be responsible for all field planting, watering, weeding and general field maintenance and care. Also responsible for harvesting, packing and delivering with a crew of 2 to 4 helpers/interns. You will be working with the owner and primary farm operator for the entire year receiving additional training in technique. We grow over 30 different vegetables and are successful because our technique reduces risk and problems while saving us time. You must be able to keep people busy on the priority tasks and have the ability to manage your workforce to meet deadlines. Background in organic produce farming and biodynamic agriculture is preferred, but we will train the right person. We are looking for a career farmer who can commit to a minimum of two years. Profit sharing and bonuses in addition to salary. Starting pay is $300.00 a week, once you are trained, your salary can go up to $500.00 a week plus sales percentage bonus.
